Updated: Jun 15, 2023

Skin tags, Have you noticed bumps and skin growths on your face? Or any parts of your body? They look like skin tags or moles but you know that they are not, and yet you can't put your finger on them.

They are not itchy, but it is annoying to have them and they are multiplying!

Chances are those bumps are skin tags, or seborrheic keratosis or seborrheic hyperplasia!

Skin tags can be quite notorious as they often appear on other body parts besides face. Skin tags are painless, noncancerous growths on the skin. They are connected to the skin by a small, thin stalk called a peduncle. Skin tags are common in both men and women, especially after age 50. They can appear anywhere on your body, though they are commonly found in places where your skin folds such as under arms, groins, thighs, eyelids and neck. Skin tags are commonly found around the area under your breasts and chests as well. Fortunately, skin tag removal is an easy, straight forward procedure. One skin tag removal treatment will have your skin looking nice and clean for a good few years!

Seborrheic Keratosis

Seborrheic keratosis comes with age, though they are predisposed to those who have familial genetics for this. Seborrheic keratosis tend to appear from middle-age onwards. Some individuals may have just one, but normally there will be several. Seborrheic keratosis is not contagious. Seborrheic keratosis are often found on scalp, neck, chest and back.

Sebaceous Hyperplasia

Sebaceous hyperplasia occurs when the sebaceous glands become enlarged with trapped sebum. This creates shiny bumps on the skin, especially the face. The bumps are harmless, but some people like to treat them for cosmetic reasons.

Sebaceous hyperplasia are often found on the face.

Good news is that all these can be easily removed with ablative laser treatment.

What is an ablative laser treatment?

In the simplest term, an ablative laser treatment is to provide an intense laser wavelength, which removes the outer layer of the skin, essentially burning the skin away. A very effective choice of treatment for skin tag removal, and even for moles and warts!
